Friends, it is an exciting time for the TVP Church Planting Movement. As we continue to work toward planting twenty churches in ten years that both reach the lost and see communities renewed through the power of the gospel, I couldn’t be happier to have announced Travis Vaughn as our new executive director and now Matthew Bryant as the new fundraiser for this work.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve for the last five years. I’m taking a break, but Travis and Matthew are clearly a fit for a time such as this. They are definitely the two men God has provided for the next stage of church planting in our presbytery. Many thanks, and blessings to you all! – Jason Coffey
From Matthew Bryant
Greetings from Lookout Mountain! I am delighted to introduce myself as the new fundraiser for TVP’s Church Planting Movement. The committee has done amazing work in a short amount of time, and I’m honored to join the effort.
Born and raised in the Tennessee Valley, I grew up at Red Bank Presbyterian Church. As a small church, our youth group often joined with other churches in our presbytery for retreats and gatherings, and it gave me the chance even as a teenager to visit and become acquainted with churches throughout our presbytery. After graduation from Covenant College, I served as a youth intern with Evergreen PCA in Sevierville, TN before returning to Lookout Mountain where I worked in admissions and church relations at Covenant College for fourteen years. My work later took me to Chattanooga Christian School, and for the last five years, I worked as chief development officer at Reformed Theological Seminary.
My wife, Jocelyn, and I have been married for seventeen years and make our home on the “backside” of Lookout Mountain with our four kids (ages five-eleven). We’ve been members of Rock Creek Fellowship for the past ten years.
Having been in and around the PCA for all of my professional life, I’ve seen and heard so much about church planting, and I’m thrilled with the direction, vision, and infrastructure of our movement with TVP. We’re blessed by the generosity of a host of committed and passionate folks, all gathered around the vision of sharing the gospel and pouring into the communities around us. Much like the network of TVP churches was a blessing to me as a teenager, the strength of our working together in this capacity and for this purpose is incredible. I’m grateful for the opportunity, and I look forward to connecting with you! – Matthew Bryant
